Payback is a b***h!

by Vonda Howard

Hey Vonda,

Recently I broke up with my jerk of a boyfriend and was more than happy to do it. He SOON AFTER started dating this woman that I have had an ongoing feud with for years. Vonda, I can actually say that I cannot stand this woman…and I could not be happier that they are together.

Now, not to long ago, he started calling me and trying to make his way back into my pants and I have (on more than one occasion) told him to hit the bricks and go back to his chicken-head. She even had the nerve to tell me to stay away from “her man”! I never laughed so hard!

Vonda, these are the two people I can honestly say I hate in this world. I thought about playing him, making him leave her ass and then dumping his ass. Would I be wrong for giving in to this little bit of revenge for myself?

Payback is a b**ch!

Dear Payback is a b**ch!,

Are you sure you are over this guy?  I know if it was someone that I “hate”, the LAST thing I would want to do is be close to them again!  I understand the feeling to want to get back at someone that has been a negative part of your life, but revenge never really pays off.

The fact that he started calling you again after (I assume) you had a nasty breakup means that somewhere  in him he feels comfortable enough to approach you about getting back together.  Why?  I would take time to look at that.  What are you doing or saying that could possibly be giving him the green light?

The best thing I can tell you is to put space between you and these people.  Plotting some revenge or scheme to get back at them for whatever they did will only prolong YOUR suffering and possibly make your experiences with them even more of a pain.  I say let him know once and for all that you and him are over and move on with your life!  Spend your time and energy on positive people!

Taking a Short Break

by M Stagg | The Voluptua Project™

Overwhelmed

Before it gets THIS bad I'm taking a break.

Greetings TVP Fam!

I have some Good News and Not So Good News…

First, the Not So Good News

As some of you may have noticed, the frequency and number of blogs posted have waned a bit. It’s not due to lack of content but rather a lack of time to edit and post on my part. This has been caused by several factors – illness and a job search the two most pressing issues – and I apologize for this. Therefore, as much as I dislike having to do so (especially to the other writers), the TVP blog will be taking a brief two week break to all me to get some things in order on the home front.

The Good News

TVP will be holding another contest over at its Facebook Page! Be sure to head over there for more details on what it is, the prize and how to sign up.

Thank YOU for supporting this blog and I hope you will continue to do so. You better believe it will be worth it in the very near future. 😉

SEE YOU IN A FEW WEEKS! 🙂

Where Does the Anger Go?

by Donya B
Angry cat

Image via Wikipedia

Crimson tide assaulted and disbursed
By the cries and tears from heaven.
Appendages directed in ways unnatural
Joints where none should be.
His stare is cold, as if to curse me
Dark tears run from his eyes.
The hollowness of his soul seeps from his mouth
The gurgle of hatred stuck in his throat.

My hand directs the post and
my foot asserts itself to the pedal familiar
bringing what was behind me to my side.
In the distance ahead, the trickles of water
crossing his face make him look like
a child at play in the spring grey skies.
So happy, so peaceful.
It appears as though he laughs
in his contentment.

Engine rumbles to life and that
which was before me greets me quickly.
Obstacles arise between the rubber and the asphalt.
Thump thump
thump thump.
… last sounds I hear before the funky music of a white boy floods my car…

“When I say shut up, I mean shut up…”

We all have been there.  Some of us don’t want to leave there while some of us try our best to avoid heading that direction.  It’s a natural emotion, but in truth, it’s not very healthy.  Anger is fierce.  Anger is hurtful and anger can be dangerous.

What do you do when you’re angry?  Sometimes it depends on with whom or what you’re angry.  Have you ever wanted to “slap the taste out of someone’s mouth”?    Have you ever gotten so frustrated with a machine you wanted to throw it out the window?  You may have wanted to, but have you ever actually done it?  (I see a bunch of you nodding… tsk tsk…)  When I was younger, I used to throw shoes at the wall when I was angry.  It was a healthy release that hurt no one, though it did leave nasty scuff marks on the walls…

What’s my point today?  Find healthy, safe outlets to release your anger.  Lashing out at your significant other, your child, your best friend may feel good at that moment, but if they aren’t the source of your anger, you know you are in the wrong and have just caused a bigger problem than you had before.  If they are the source, consider your approach.  Think through the situation, compile your concerns, channel your emotion into rational thought and maintain your cool.  The problem won’t be solved by yelling, cussing or screaming at anyone.  Talk it out like an adult.  And while the thought of running that SOB over may sound like a good release, I’d suggest you reconsider…

Two,

Ms. De

Cinnamon Truffle:  Letting anger consume you is like setting fire to your own clothes.  You may get someone’s attention, but the only person who suffers is you.

Tit For Tat

by Vonda Howard

Hurt

Hey Vonda,

I’ll get right to it. I have been dating my boyfriend for about 3 years now and I love him very much. One year ago I made the huge mistake of cheating on him with a co-worker and have felt terrible about it ever since. Happily, he decided to forgive me and we moved forward with our relationship.

About a week ago,  I came home early from work and walked in on him having sex with one of our neighbors. He had no idea I was even there, so I backed out of the room. My first inclination was to go get a knife and kill both of them, but then I thought about when I cheated on him. I simply just left and haven’t said a word about it.

Am I crazy not to say anything?   I feel like I cheated on first so who am I to say anything to him?

Help Vonda!

Tit For Tat

Dear Tit For Tat,

I’m going to answer your question first…YES, you are crazy.

You talked about the fact that you cheated on him a few years ago.  If he forgave you, then it should be a non-issue moving forward.  When you forgive someone for something, that’s it.  It’s forgiven.  You should not continue to beat yourself up from a mistake you made YEARS ago.  You’re human and allowed to make them!  You learned from it (I hope) and moved on.

Now, that said, there is no way in HELL that you should let him get away with disrespecting you in YOUR home just because you feel bad about something in your past.  I don’t condone violence, but you should have definitely made yourself known along with throwing them both out!  You DO NOT have to sit and take that!  Frankly, if you start to let these types of things go, it WILL get worse because he will start to think he can do whatever he wants to you and get away with it.  Frankly, It sounds to me like the trust and respect is gone in this “relationship” and it either needs to be dealt with by therapy or ending it all together.  The two of you CANNOT continue to play these hurtful games with one another.  Either you are in or you’re out.

Hope I helped!

Vonda
