Q: How can I conceal fine lines (around the eyes & mouth)?

Use a concealer in pencil form or a synthetic cosmetic brush with your concealer. Fine lines occur when we lose elasticity in the skin, therefore creating a shadow. Applying concealer to both sides of the line will diminish the appearance. Applying concealer after makeup keeps it on the surface of the skin. Blending in well.

Q: What is the difference between a concealer and correction?

Concealers hide blemishes, dark spots & darkness around the eyes. Corrective products come in either green or yellow and are used to hide redness on the face or very dark circles. You can mix a concealer and a corrective cream or apply the corrective product, then the concealer and follow with foundation.

Q: How can I wear eyeshadow all day without it creasing?

If you set your eyeshadow with loose transparent powder, you will not have a creasing problem. You can apply the powder prior to or after the eyeshadow. Prior to applying mascara, lightly swipe a powder brush over the eyes to remove any excess powder.

Q: What technique can I use to apply the liquid eyeliner on top of my lashes, without making the line too thick and easy to smudge? Also, do I put the eye shadow before applying the eyeliner or after?

  1. Make sure your application tip is very fine. If your eyeliner applicator is not thin then you will probably end up with a thicker line.
  2. Get the liner as close to your lashes as possible and make sure your applicator tip is very fine.
  3. Let your eyeliner dry before applying eye shadow, mascara or other products. This will help eliminate smudging.
  4. You either apply your eye shadow before or after your liner. Some recommend doing it before, that way the eyeliner helps to keep the shadow from falling into and under your eyes. Others recommend after your shadow so you don’t disturb your eyeliner with your eye shadow application.

Q: How do I treat puffy eyes?

In order to assess the proper solution, the first thing you should do is determine what is causing the puffiness. Use an eye mask or cucumber slices to draw out the swelling. A cold cloth or certain eye creams might help keep the inflammation down.

Q: Is there a good substitute for foundation?

If you want your skin to show through try a tinted moisturizer. It’s great for natural coverage, evens out skin tone and will give a healthy glow to your complexion. Tinted moisturizers are closest in texture to a sheer foundation, but also have the added benefit of hydrating the skin. Most tinted moisturizers also offer an SPF of at least 15, but if you can find one with an SPF 30, then you are really doing your skin a favor by protecting it daily from incidental sun exposure.
